I recently had the honour of meeting two distinguished leaders shaping the future of Australia’s international engagement:
Hon’ble Mr. Philip Green, Australian High Commissioner to India, and
Hon’ble Mr. Peter Malinauskas, Premier of South Australia.

The Premier’s visit to India focuses on strengthening business partnerships and promoting South Australia as a global education destination, particularly for Indian students. It was a privilege to represent SACA (Study Abroad Consultants Association), which today proudly unites over 250 responsible and reputed study abroad consultants from across India.

During our conversation, I shared SACA’s vision — to build a transparent, student-first ecosystem for international education. Our discussion centered around the real challenges faced by the industry, especially the need for a clear, collaborative framework when it comes to recruiting genuine and high-quality students from India.

As consultants who work directly with students and families, we often face issues like changing visa regulations, evolving GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) policies, and increasing scrutiny on student intent. We believe that these challenges can be addressed effectively when governments, institutions, and ground-level consultants work in sync.

I truly appreciate the Premier’s openness to these insights and his commitment to engaging directly with stakeholders like SACA. We discussed the possibility of organising a focused session between Australian education stakeholders and Indian consultants to ensure better alignment, trust, and long-term success in student recruitment.

This meeting was more than ceremonial—it was a step forward in creating mutual understanding and responsible partnerships between India and Australia in the field of international education.

At SACA, we remain committed to serving as a bridge between students, institutions, and policymakers—ensuring that Indian students gain access to global opportunities with integrity, guidance, and support.

Let’s build the future of education together.
